Bike rides
Whenever I go for a bike ride near my place, specially during summer, I am immediately transported into another world. Something that is 5 minutes away, yet so, so far when I spend most of my time sitting indoors in front of the screen.
I went for a long bike ride today, without any headphones. I loved it. Also, that’s why this newsletter is late today, sorry.
Anyway, I went through stretches of tree canopies, farm fields, and neighbourhoods. There were houses with their distinct architecture of the 50s, 60s and 70s, which I absolutely love. There was new construction that is all about energy efficiency, gray and boring, and some rich people villas near the golf course, which reminded me of american rich people houses that I’ve seen on the TV. Strangers said ‘Morgen’ on the way and the weather was very nice.
It is beautiful outdoors. I should do it more
I was quite interested in and spent time setting up a system for working with agents on a vps this week. My primary tools of choice are pi, and Herdr, which while using after I discovered it on Hacker News, I started seeing everywhere on youtube. It is the new shiny toy I guess.
Also, after noticing how pi is efficient with memory on a 1gb RAM vps back in June, I have now switched over to it on all my machines and it has been great.
Anyway, I don’t want to make this an LLM post, so I’ll stop here and share the link to the whole setup (hopefully reproducible easily for others) when I put it on tangled soon.
Book I want to read
‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’, by Matt Dinniman

I’ve been hearing a lot of praise for this one. I hope I get to it this year. The books to read have been piling up.

A project I discovered
Using AI to make critical flood forecasting information universally accessible.
Flood Forecasting - Flood Forecasting
I discovered this just today. As you might see, east India and south east Asia in general are the most affected areas by floods. An Indian state, Assam, is currently in a devastating state because of floods. I hope in the future these technologies might help authorities better prepare for floods.

Thanks for reading. I’ll hopfully be back publishing on time next week. ✌🏽
