Back to Prague - Mater Urbium
I travelled to Prague this week, in fact still not in berlin yet. I am right now stuck in a train back from Prague waiting for the faulty locomotive to be replaced while I type this. 2 hour delay on a 4.5 hour journey. Can’t even blame Deutche Bahn, as it is the České Dráhy this time.
Anyway, the visit to Prague was quite different this time. The last I was here was Feb of 2023; it was cold, damp, the trees were bare and the city was not really vibing for me. Perhaps also because we stayed in the very middle of the touristy centre and didn’t have a lot of time to explore outside the flooded touristy locations back then.
This time, we stayed in the lesser town on a quieter street while luckily being able to still be at an accessible distance. We found some good local cafes and had quiet streets to explore. It didn’t rain and there was still a summer feel, without the unbearable heat of June or early July. This time, I actually wished I had more time to at least wander in the huge park on the Petrin Hill, if nothing else.
But I’ll come back, and would love to stay near the same place as this time.
While on the station to take the train back, I saw the following written on a plaque on the old building.
