Anticipatory Nostalgia
It is fine to not finish books. No hot take here. In fact, outside the passionate readers community, I don’t think it is even a take.
People regularly just don’t finish books, specially non-fiction. You have limited time that you want to save for the good ones, and good ones there are many, many of, out there.
But do you ever leave the ones you actually like unread?
I have two books, that I haven’t intentionally finished, despite, no because, I love them so much. I read them slow, maybe one chapter at a time, let the words absorb. It is as if I lived that one chapter, in that place, invisibly following story and the characters.
One of them is Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, that I left for almost a year, but have picked up again to slowly continue. It is deeply emotional and so evocatively portrayed that it seeps into your skin and brings out the tears. Sometimes of joy, something the other kind. Just thinking while writing about this book slowed me down here. Made me look out the window.
The second book is My Daughters’ Mum by Natasha Badhwar. I started reading it around 9 years ago. It is a collection of weekly essays by the author in one of the Indian newspapers, where she shared stories of her girls growing up. Its about the curiosity and innocence of kids, how they explore and learn and face and discover different emotions. Essentially the overall journey that parents and kids go on together.
Now, I was no mother, and I didn’t have kids, but I loved it so much. It too, was written in a way that transported me to the lazy summer afternoon that Natasha was writing about.
I didn’t want the book to end so I stopped reading.

I realise now while writing about these that it is probably a good idea that I finish both. What if I die before I could? Hahahah (:awkward-laugh:)

Options Wheel Strategy
I discovered the options wheel trading strategy this week. It doesn’t seem something for the regular joe, but perhaps AI could help automate this?? 🤔Can’t stop the Signal, Poison it
