Blink: something to send before the year ends
The next experiment from our ongoing research in new ways of interacting. Send someone a message that reveals itself when blinking.
You are reading Future Visions, a newsletter by Uncommon Practice. This edition shares from our ongoing research into how technology could change the way brands express themselves, digitally, spatially and sensorially. Each experiment starts with curiosity and ends with a glimpse of what’s next.
Here’s a small experiment for the last days of the year.
It’s also a little present for you :)
Together with creative developer Artem Lyustik, we made you a way to send a message that only reveals itself when you blink.

Use it to send someone a small thank you, a wish, or something you didn’t find the right moment to say this year.
👉 See for yourself, then send one yourself!
How it works
Artem: “I use real-time computer vision to detect blinks in the browser. A short calibration makes it work across devices. Messages are stored in a simple serverless database.”
Send your wishes
It’s so natural that we found no explanation was needed. We’re pretty sure your recipient will figure it out.
We hope you like it.
Feel free to send it around.
Until next time,
Thomas Byttebier,
Uncommon Practice
