In case you missed it, Rihanna, supreme ruler of the cultural Universe, is pregnant. PREGONATE. Pregante. With child.
After years of heartache and struggle, I personally needed this news—for my mental health. It feels like a win for society, a cultural reset. Finally, something we can all look forward to: A Chanel-encrusted Royal Baby.
Where were you when you first saw photos of the Pon de Replay singer sporting an uncovered baby bump in the middle of winter? I was on my way to Jane Club Work Sprints when I glanced at an Instagram DM from my friend Megan, fellow Robyn Rihanna Fenty enthusiast.
The worst thing about learning Rihanna is pregnant on a Monday afternoon is being expected to focus on literally anything else for the remainder of the day (pregnancy). Like, I've got tweets to read, Instagram stories to post, and texts to send. Will the baby be at next year's Met Gala?! I simply don't have capacity to suffer from the consequences of last week's procrastination.
If you, like me, were unable to take the rest of the week off to dissect Rihanna's baby announcement outfit, I have a tool to help keep you on track when that little devil on your shoulder (People Magazine) tries to lead you astray.

Opal is a browser extension for Chrome (and Opera) that can help you stay focused on your most important tasks by temporarily blocking other sites (think: social media and news outlets). They also have an app if you're a resourceful little procrastinator like me and need some added accountability on your phone 😇
May we all find the mental strength to keep moving forward with our own lives.
Peace, love and workflows,
Andrea
