On the other side of an exorcism...
What's I'm releasing this year (besides my guts)
All of my blog posts, newsletters, and 1-1 emails are written by me — em dashes and all! If you wanna know how I use AI in my business, click here.
I’m writing to you from Santa Barbara, CA 🌴 I landed here last night from Bend, Oregon after a week of traveling through varying climates on the West Coast.
I was looking forward to this final leg of my PST adventure until Saturday night, when I was hit with a gnarly dose of food poisoning.
To bottom out in an Airbnb bathroom was humbling and humiliating, and a really interesting way to close out an otherwise very delightful visit:
Because the ‘work’ side of my trip had come to an end by Saturday evening, I’d contemplated going home early (especially after hitting hour six of the upheaval). I tried re-booking a flight to Charlotte a couple times but kept running into tech issues on the Delta app, so I decided to leave it until the morning to decide.
Funnily enough, almost exactly 24 hours before the reckoning, I was sitting in circle with a group of folks from The Council, sharing what we wanted to release/step into in this next phase of our businesses. We spent the day in ritual: reflecting on the last six months, creating spell jars with Annie Cattabriga-Alosa, thinking about strategy for the next few months, and walking the grounds of our (potentially a little bit haunted?) palatial estate that smelled of Juniper and manure.
Not so coincidentally, I’m in a 12th house transit. In astrology, the 12th house (the final house in the zodiac) is marked by endings, grief, integration, and deep processing. It’s linked to the releasing of a chapter and preparing for rebirth.
What I released (other than my guts):
Any pressure to be defined/packaged neatly. I got rid of the service packages on my website because, truthfully, I’m not a packaged kind of girl. I deeply value the freedom and flexibility in creating bespoke offers that meet the individual needs and budgets of my clients — trying to fit that into a box just hasn’t worked for me, so I’m going to stop trying to make it work. (Here are more deets about how I did that/what that looks like, if you’re curious.)
What I called in:
My affirmation/intention that I set in our closing ceremony was: I am limitless. In the context of business, it means I have the freedom to evolve, change my mind, throw the “rules” out the window, whenever and however I want. In the context of my personal life, it means…something I’ll likely share more about in the coming months!
Actually hilarious that the limits of my entire body, mind, and soul were put to the test shortly after. After an hours-long lay on ’ couch yesterday, I made it to my originally planned flight — Pepto-Bismol and saltine crackers in tow.
Waking up at my little B&B in Santa Barbara this morning, I felt (verrryyyyy, verrrryyyy slightly) grateful to have been given such a hard reset/detox.
If you need me, I’ll be getting an IV drip and then staring longingly into the ocean for several hours.
Peace, love and Pedro Pascal at Benito Bowl vibes,
xo Andrea
