Let's catch up
Hello, dears. It’s been a minute since I last checked in. How are you? What’s new? If I owe you a reply from last month’s newsletter and/or the one before that, please know I am obsessing over it on a semi-regular basis and will maybe, hopefully, one day send a response. Still love you though. It’s not you, it’s me. Seriously.
I’ve been really overwhelmed lately. Like, anything less than the bare minimum will shoot my nervous system to the moon in a t-shirt cannon. Does that make sense?
I haven’t felt like writing about anything pertaining to my work or systems stuff, so instead, here are some chaotic personal updates for your consumption:
First week of June, I was attacked by mosquitos. I spent an entire week drunk on Benadryl, icing my 15+ bites, and trying not to amputate my own limbs to stop the unbearable itching. I will spare you the photos but know it was very bad and very disgusting:

My two-week stay in New York has unexpectedly become three weeks. I was here for the Knicks win and have been navigating the subway without Maps, so I consider myself a local who doesn’t pay taxes. There’s a palpable positivity in the air here right now; dare I say, hope?
I’ve been rabidly signing up for workout classes via my ClassPass free trial, which fortunately (for my knees) expires on Tuesday. I took a beginner’s ballet class this week, because why not? The teacher got me to jump in the air — something I haven’t done since probably 2017. I’ve told multiple instructors I just moved here; perhaps one day that will be true. I’m not lying, I’m manifesting.
I haven’t been wearing my Oura ring. I’ve worn it almost every single day for the last 4 years, but it was starting to make my finger sore. I haven’t looked at my sleep score in almost a month and honestly, it’s freeing. I could be getting the exact same amount of sleep as before, but it feels like I’m getting more. I’m more in tune with my body after taking away the constant consumption of its data.
I had to Google how the World Cup works and I still don’t fully understand it. But as of this week I know who ishowspeed is, which should count for something?
This season of Summer House is finally over and I’m relieved I will no longer be rage baited by West and Amanda on a regular basis. It only felt right that I visit Soft Bar over the weekend.

I have turned my full attention to the new seasons of Love Island US and UK. My favorite adult pacifier/disassociation tool.
I’ve started using semicolons again. A lot. In 10th grade, my English teacher called me the Semicolon Queen because I used them “way too often, but always correctly.” Been a long-winded bitch from day one.
I think that’s all for now. If you’re new to the list and this is the first newsletter you’ve received from me, I am deeply sorry.
Happy Pride!
Peace, love and workflows,
Andrea
