I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw Type C Creative again...
Why I switched to a 9-grid Instagram feed.
All of my blog posts, newsletters, and 1-1 emails are written by me — em dashes and all! If you wanna know how I use AI in my business, click here.
How's it going? It's the beginning of the end of 2022 and I'm setting the foundation for more relaxed and aligned business practices in the new year.
The most notable — I'm done posting to my Instagram feed. Not that I hadn't not been posting to my Instagram feed for the past few months, but now I'm doing it proudly (and strategically).
A few months ago I took a group training/course from copywriter and content strategist, @GoingUltraviolet. I'd heard about her 9-grid feed strategy — where you only post 9 static feed photos and captions that serve as a social media landing page of sorts — and was extremely curious.
As I get older, and the world continues to crumble around us, my desire to be active online has diminished. I recently read Selena Gomez's Rolling Stone interview where she talks about needing to “disappear” sometimes, especially when she's feeling so overexposed.
I'm no former Disney pop star but I totally get what she means. It's nice to get recognition and business opportunities but it's just as nice to be relieved of the pressure of constantly showing up, even if you're showing up authentically. Unfortunately for me, I don't have former Disney pop star money; alas, I have to find ways of “disappearing” that don't completely run my business into the ground. It's a balance. (P.S. I cried through Gomez's Apple+ documentary over the weekend. Highly recommend.)
So, I've checked out of the professional social media landscape almost entirely. And it feels good to worry about one less thing.
I guess my question to fellow business owners would be … What's your “one less thing” you'd like to worry about in 2023? What's stopping you from making it a reality?
Peace, love and workflows,
Andrea
