"Adapt or die" doesn't apply to me.
I moved back to Florida last week and spent the weekend with some college friends, all of whom work in creative fields.
One of my friends, who works in social media at a large company, said their CEO has a really intense stance on AI adaptation:
“AI won’t replace people—but people who don’t use AI will eventually be replaced by people who do.”
This isn’t the first time I’ve heard something like this.
I’ve talked to friends whose bosses insist they “find a way” to incorporate AI into their workflow; not necessarily because it’ll be helpful, but because if they don’t, they’ll be left behind.
And no one wants to be left behind.
This false sense of urgent, “adapt or die” thinking is fueled by capitalism.
