Opting in to receive someone’s newsletter can be a huge risk, emotionally. What if they turn out to be boring? Annoying? What if their advice sucks? Or worse…what if they try to sell me something?

But with great risk comes great reward (in this case, a cool newsletter). And with an email list comes great responsibility.

I solemnly swear:

I will never be boring, unless for some reason I am.
I will not send you multiple emails a week, unless for some reason I do.
My advice rarely sucks, unless that particular advice doesn’t resonate with you. [If at any point my emails stop resonating, you can unsubscribe; no hard feelings. I literally won’t know unless you tell me (please, please don’t tell me, I’ll cry).]
I won’t try to sell you something, unless for some reason I have something to sell. (Nothing’s truly free.)
Those em dashes I use? They are ALL ME, baby. Here’s my stance on AI when it comes to writing this newsletter.

You may go months without hearing from me. You could also hear from me every week for a month and then never again. I usually don’t send an email unless I have something I really want to say.
