Hi everyone,
Here’s your weekly trove of recommendations. If you enjoy it, please feel free to forward this along to friends.
Who Wants To Be A Science Savvy Congressperson?
I found this via Neil deGrasse Tyson on Twitter this week. I like the idea of making sure our elected officials have some contact with the basic science and math skills that tech and business leaders in the private sector are often expected to demonstrate in interviews.
This military fitness test via Sam Parr
I’m relieved I can pass the push-up portion with one short break, but will have to work on the five minute(!) plank. If you attempt the test, let me know how it goes!
An epic proposed hiking trail spanning all of Japan
The proposed route of the JAPAN TRAIL will cover the length of the Japanese archipelago. The 10,000* km long-distance walking trail can be broken up into sections or used for shorter walks.
*That’s about three times the length of the Appalachian trail in the US. It would be thrilling to hike the Kyushu portion some day.
Foreign Candy Puts American Candy to Shame
The story in here about Hi-Chew’s dramatic jump in sales in the US was fascinating. I’m lucky to have a hoard of diverse snacks from Japan to share with family soon (Hi Ken ;P)
Thanks for reading Trove. See you next week!
