1. A towering arboreal monolith endemic to the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada, known for its prodigious diameter and commanding presence in any forested tableau.

2. colloq. Vegetation that performs its own zip code's heavy lifting, occupying the landscape with an uncompromising footprint.

Etymology. Named after Sequoyah (c. 1770–1843), the Cherokee silversmith who created the Cherokee syllabary. A tribute to literacy, but mostly just a massive tree.

The thiccc sequoia stood resolute in Big Trees Park, its girth a silent rebuke to the concept of personal space.
