When my wife and I first moved in together in a tiny one-bedroom apartment, I used to make her “Sophisto-Joes” from a recipe from Gourmet magazine I Xeroxed at the library. We loved it for the same nostalgic reasons most people do. I still make them twenty years later, and get nostalgia for two different times in my life.
