Animated Short: "Look" (Gertrude by Trimmo)
"Wherever we go, we are friends" -Sloth and Manatee
(Also! SF East Bay people: I will be at the Livermore Comic Con on Saturday June 27th, come hang out and draw on the table! Also I will be doing an author panel in the auditorium at 11.)
In which a frog in the forest finds an unusual rock. The music is “Gertrude,” a song from the album “Broken Hand” by Trimmo. I hope you enjoy it.
Animation is all about time, in the form of movement and relationship and also sound/music and story beats. This project involved syncing up or cohabitating different types of movement and types of timing between nature and the creatures in it, to portray the effects of natural phenomena and also the emotional content of moving around quickly or slowly or not at all.
The song (in my interpretation) has to do with the inner world and its tenuous relationship to the outer world, a thing that I interpreted into a bit of a tiny fable.
I hope you enjoy it. Please share it with anyone who loves animation and music and weird little orange frogs.
