Most Often Played RPG.
Gumshoe for sure, but specifically it’s been The Yellow King RPG. I’ve run most of the published material and even started writing my scenario for the Paris setting.
But, every Friday is now Cassilda’s Song, our playtesters continued from the Paris setting, completing the Wars and are about to start Aftermath.
It’s been a great experience, with fantastic players who brought their ideas and influence to the campaign. The Yellow King focuses on the mind-bending, reality-shifting end of investigative horror. Cosmic supernatural rather than blood and gore.
The Yellow King RPG uses the Gumshoe Quickshock rules, which encompass, fast once and done combat, simplified investigative abilities and mechanics and Shock and Injury cards to track health, all things that add up to a streamlining and focus on the clues, the investigation and the story.
There is not much more I can say on Cassilda’s Song as it has not yet been released, but we’ve had a lot of fun and I expect a BIG release, one of the classic Gumshoe campaigns, could it knock Eternal Lies off of it’s perch?
