The Raspy Raven Rag The Raspy Raven Rag

Have the characters kept or broken more promises?

promise to always be good when in space... (fingers crossed)
Promise

In Dragonbane, our group started as decent sorts, always willing to talk to mild NPCs and discuss various turnip-related gossip.

We’ve killed a lot of monsters in the intervening sessions, and maybe those that weren’t really monsters, but they perhaps stuttered when we asked them probing questions, or they just had a look in their eyes.

But apart from Benny, we tend to stick to a moral code and always tell most of the truth.

Now the end is in sight of our current campaign, Path of Glory; the McGuffin is within our grasp. This seems to have pushed our PCs into a “take no shit” attitude, as we lie, cheat and have no time for niceties. The frog people are a case in point; our GM even put on some funny accents, and they had a little argument going on with each other about who was the best boatman. We said we meant no harm; we promised not to harm them, but within five minutes of their prattle, swords were drawn, and they scarpered, and the boats were ours.

Serves us right that we got attacked by a griffon and some water skellies as we journeyed across the lake. What happened to the fresh-faced, open-hearted adventurers who started this quest at The Hungry Hobgoblin?

Most of them are dead, to be fair.
