An enjoyable moment of charm gone right or wrong?

I have to plump for Yineve, Yineve Dol-Gara, an operative (spy) in our Mercy of the Icons campaign for Coriolis: The Third Horizon. She has excellent skills in manipulation and culture, and she is the “captain” and mouthpiece of our group.

This is from John, the player’s notes on Yineve:

She is gregarious, flamboyant, friend to everyone, a social chameleon to the extent that his gender expression and sexuality changes to the situation, loyal, and ruthless in pursuit of a mission. While a gregarious social chameleon who treats everyone as a friend until its time to be ruthless, Yineve does drop some of that act (and the heavy makeup, which is usually from the modulation mask) when the crew is alone. She/he/they seems to genuinely like everyone on the crew.

Many a time, Yineve has single-handedly got the team the best deal / out of certain death / avoiding danger, delete as applicable.

Her skills are not without jeopardy; her charm comes with an inability to keep quiet; usually this is accompanied by, “I got this!”, as the rest of the team worriedly shake their heads.

A great example was our last session; there is a moment in Part Two of the Mercy of the Icons, The Last Cyclade (seemingly no longer available) when the players have to choose a new Patron and Yineve was negotiating hard with one Patron, even though the group had agreed a third Patron that they had planned to meet later was the right fit. As it happened, Yineve was so utterly charming or scary, you decide, that the Patron they’d planned to reject was, in the end, accepted.

This has completely changed the direction of the campaign, although they won’t know this - until they read this post.
