Pelicon Intensifies
It’s been oodles of hard work but we are less than a week away from the start of Pelicon 2024!
Pelicon 2024 is a “replacement” for Gen Con Online, focusing on all the offerings from Pelgrane Press and a few more associated games.
One of the many helpers to get us to this point, suggested I should do a podcast about the journey, well, maybe for a later date, in the meantime here are a few statistics - 42 games, 25 GMs, 182 registered players, and over 100 players.
The most popular game is Trail of Cthulhu using the Gumshoe system, 62 players signed up for 10 games across the weekend. Close behind is 13th Age with 52 players, and then Swords of the Serpentine with 35. I’m sure the current 2nd edition Kickstarter for 13th Age and the soon-to-come 2nd edition Kickstarter for Trail of Cthulhu is partly the reason.
My highlights as we’ve put this together have been Paged, a DramaSystem game where players choose characters from literature who have escaped the British Library and set up a home together, we have Toad of Toad Hall, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Raven from Nevermore & Don Quixote.
Also, I’m excited to be part of a Trail of Cthulhu setting, Bookhounds of London, the scenario is called Bees of the Invisible and I play The Divine Angela, a medium of dubious renown who searches with her associates for the Lost Library of Ynys Môn.
The last shout-out is to a non-Pelgrane Press game, from Scott Malthouse, Scott has come up with an Arthur Machen-influenced setting, using the Gumshoe system, called The Terror Beneath and has grabbed the bull by the horns in offering 7 spaces in his game, one for each of the archetypes!
I hope some of you get a chance to play in Pelicon 2024, as of this time, there are a few spaces left, see https://warhorn.net/events/pelicon-2024/schedule/agenda
It’s been a labour of love and much thanks to all the other organisers and GMs who’ve given freely of their time.
Have fun and I hope to see you over the weekend!
