Jan 25, Why is a Raven like a writing desk?

alt text

Each month I’ll share the goings-on of various members of my Tabletop Roleplaying Game Discord, The Raspy Raven.

The majority of these folks are solo RPG designers, writers and artists, passionate about the games and cons they put together, largely only able to do this part-time. So if you do have a few pennies to spare please buy or back their games and attend their cons.

In this offering, players have been invited to a speech by a maverick professor who claims to have found not only the Gardens but its secrets. Christmas Crime

Contained within Christmas Crime are three festive mysteries for Matrons of Mystery by Sue Savage. Matrons is a very English take on the Powered by Brindlewood style of investigative RPG, as Sue says, what could be cosier than Christmas? A cosy Christmas murder! Every good cosy mystery TV show should have a Christmas special. So swap your nice cup of tea for a hot chocolate, and prepare to reminisce about Christmases past, in these three festive-themed cases that only a Matron can solve.

Wild Hunted

Tim Gray of Silver Branch Games put forward another of the growing number of Paul Baldowski’s Sanction RPG genre setups, a modern fantasy. You're connected to the otherworld, and it wants to hunt you down. With others like yourself and a smattering of special abilities, maybe you can fight back.

Conventions

January reviews

In January we saw Raspy Raven folk attend several conventions, two of the biggest were Grogmeet and Contingency.

Here Sue reviews her experience of Contingency, a week in the wilds of East Anglia.

And Dirk from The Grognard Files opens up his Grogmeet 2025 scrapbooking industrial Manchester!

Lastly, GrogTen, a private con up in Tenby, but Neil writes with such enthusiasm, I couldn’t leave this one out.
