The Record Weekly: All Aboard for Norwood Day!
The Record Weekly: All Aboard for Norwood Day!
Aug 9, 2026
Good morning Norwood Town!
With Norwood Day only a few weeks away due to quirks in the calendar, it feels like daylight savings time is a full week instead of just the usual hour.
With that, the regular August events are coming up even faster than last year. We had National Night Out last week, and it was a huge success, with perfect weather and even more perfect pitches at the dunk tank on the Norwood Common 🎉.
Meanwhile, the future of Norwood Hospital took a significant step forward as the State Senate (and earlier this week, Gov. Maura Healey) signed the House's eminent domain bill. Now, its owner has three months to sell or the State will sell the hospital for it, at a much reduced price 🏥.
And if you're thinking ahead in other political issues, be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming Election on September 1st – we've got the details inside! 🗳️
Also, read about scenic hiking adventures with IMPACT Norwood and the Trails Committee; and mark your calendars for Norwood Day, just around the corner!
