linear medium of communication
A medium of communication where its information is structured in specific order motivated to guarantee that the contextual information necessary to make the needed information well understood has been processed.
E: In any book, article, video there is some sort of "introduction", which serves as contextual information to later explain a story or make a point (focal information)
Most medium of communications are not 100% fully linear, and allow them to be consumed in different order. linear medium of communication should be understood as an spectrum.
E: In a book or web page there may be citations, references and links that may provide additional contextual information
Is important to distinguish a linear medium of communication from the fact that as humans we can only consume any form of narrative in a linear fashion. On thing refers to the structure of the medium of communication the other refers to how is consumed.
