computation
A computation is the process of transforming information to reduce entropy.
A computation optimizes for a specific purpose, otherwise entropy can’t be measured and it will be just an arbitrary succession of events.
A computation reduces the complexiy of input information into an abstraction without loosing the information relevant to its purpose.
While to be considered a computation the process requires a purpose, the purpose does not need to be intentional.
Most synthetic computations are intentional while most biological computations are not (unless free will is accepted, then reasoning as computation will also be intentional).
