TBB: February Recap, March Milestones!

The Beast Boutique The Beast Boutique

Welcome back to TBB’s newsletter! March is a big month for us, with lots of milestones, but first, here’s what happened in February:

  1. TBB catered for a birthday party! We brought blank figurines and supplies to the venue, and guests got to paint their own figurine to take home with them! Paint-your-own workshops have always been intriguing to us, so it was great to get the chance to try it out, and I’d love to get another shot at it sometime.

A collage of figurines being painted - top to bottom, left to right: A silver cat with a pink muzzle, a blue fox with white spots, a blue bear painted with clouds and a landscape, a red fox, and a pink fox with green spots and black details in the spots.

The party guests all had such fun approaches -
A photo of two figurines, a sleeping fox and sleeping bear, resting on a wooden table. The fox is painted dark blue with silver polka dots on it. The bear is painted in metallic colors like a mountainous desert landscape with a brilliant blue sky.

    and beautiful outcomes!
  2. Our brand-new horse model debuted, and the Festival Horse was the belle of the ball! Thank you for all the support and love for our newest model. We’re looking forward to sharing the other poses and hairstyles we’re working on.

Which brings us to March:

First, a big ✨ Pride restock ✨ is in the works. Our Pride otters will be coming back this month, and there will also be 7-flag sets of cats, skunks, rabbits, and more! This will possibly be the biggest Pride drop we’ve ever done, so I’m very excited. (A restock email may go out later this month when they’ve been added to the shop.)

Second, March 4th is National Pound Cake day, so I’d like to take a moment to appreciate our former intern, Poundcake, aka. The Cakester. Look at that gentleman. <3

A collage of photographs showing a chunky orange tabby cat with tom cheeks and sad eyes. The first photo shows him laying on a half wall looking at the camera. The second photo shows him sitting on a bed looking up. The third is a closeup of him looking past the viewer with his paws up on the blanket, as if he's waiting for a treat.

Third, in anticipation of the Ides of March, here are some of my favorite holiday memes. I hope you enjoy them.

A crop of the painting 'The Death of Julius Caesar' by Vincenzo Camuccini, which depicts the assassination of Julius Caesar. A grey narwhal figurine has been edited in directly in front of Caesar amongst the other senators.

Few know that narwhales had representatives in the Senate.

Fourth, March’s Model of the Month, a fitting choice for the holiday, is the Narwhale ornament! All versions of this model will be on sale until the end of March.

a collage showing a metallic purple narwhal figurine from multiple angles. The narwhal is counter-shaded, its belly a non-metallic bubblegum pink. Its horn is painted a matching metallic purple.

(Fun fact: Their horns are actually a tooth that can grow up to nine feet long, and most of the ones with magnificent teeth are males.)

Fifth, Happy Birthday Month to my (Chet’s) brother, who might shoot me for including this, but I’m gonna risk it.

A photograph of a sea lion's face with it's eyes bugging out and it's tongue sticking out of it's mouth. Two emoji "rock on" hands have been edited into the image as if they belonged to the sea lion.

Kiddo, odds of you reading this are low, but I hope you have a great day, and can’t wait to see you.

And finally, our milestones. TBB’s 10th birthday is at the end of March (as well as our 14th anniversary)! There have been moments where the shop was only kept afloat through stubbornness and no small amount of delusion, but here we are. I hope our past selves are vindicated by our progress and all the things we have planned for the future. Whether you’ve been here since the start or joined us along the way, thank you for being here with us!

A collage of photographs from the last ten years of the beast boutique, depicting the artists sculpting, doing homework, and taking selfies together. The last photo spot is filled with the logo of a grey, one-eyed cat sniffing a green pitcher, with the words "happy anniversary" above it, and "thank you for all the support these last ten years!" below.

And on that sappy note, that’s all for this one. Thanks for reading, and we’ll catch you next time!
