LIFT UP YOUR VOICE - Community Hymn Sing
I envision you all singing a hymn at whatever time you choose, but knowing that you are united with others in one of the most glorious and sacred things we can do as a Body. Maybe you are a parent alone at home with the children and want them to stop and worship in song. Perhaps you are elderly in your quiet place, or a single getting ready for work. Maybe you need something to do in unison with your spouse or are trying to establish more of a prayer routine. As Saint Augustine said, singing is praying twice. :)
This hymn can be sung to the tune used for
Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow
O thou, whom once they flocked to hear,
Thy words to hear, thy power to feel;
Suffer the sinners to draw near,
And graciously receive us still.
They that be whole, thyself hast said,
No need of a physician have;
But I am sick, and want thine aid,
And want thine utmost power to save.
Make this the acceptable hour!
Come, O my soul’s physician, thou!
Display thy sanctifying power,
And show me thy salvation now. Amen+

Big Mouth - A short editorial - Therese
Canadian Defiance against the USA No Matter What
When did diplomacy and courtesy disappear between Canada and our neighbours to the South? Some might argue that the US doesn’t deserve respect or Canada’s charitable conduct toward them. Some might say that if they are rude to us, they deserve every disrespect in return.
Christianity demands that we exercise restraint in our dealings with others and that we seek their good, but also that we give God glory when anybody does well by Him. Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.”
I happen to think President Trump is no gentleman, but I’m delighted in many of his accomplishments and in his leadership. I have no problem criticizing him when I disagree with his decisions or choices but I am zealously eager to praise and laud his solid governance. Where the good is accomplished, grace flows.
Is Trump derangement a reality? It is evident to me that it is. I happen to think that our own prime minister is consumed by a pride-filled posture. He does no favour to Canadians in his entrenched negativity Is there no good to found in Mr. Trump? Has he done nothing that merits agreement, a word of appreciation, or a thank-you? Is there no common ground whatever?
As an extension of this, we all need to show restraint, respect, a tempering of our tongue, and active humility when dealing with others. One can always take the high ground in our delivery while maintaining conviction and truth.
