Cayce on Aspirin & comments on Tylenol poisoning
Hi Friends,
The 15-second summary of this email: Aspirin is much safer than Tylenol and ibuprofen. Cayce’s readings allowed for the use of aspirin, with caveats. While other non-prescription pain medications are now available, these are all much more problematic than plain old aspirin.
(At the bottom of this email is a bit about my petition asking the U.S. Supreme Court to establish “Medical Freedom” as humanity’s natural right that existed before the U.S. Constitution came into effect. If you’re not interested in this discussion of aspirin vs. Tylenol, just skip to the end. Thanks!)
Earlier this week I asked a lady at my coworking space if she used Tylenol. At the time I was looking at Cayce’s readings about coffee and tea, and thinking about Tylenol poisoning. She had a bit of a story…
She was in a lot of pain before her knee replacement surgery, and was popping a very large amount of Tylenol and ibuprofen every day. Her kidney function improved when she stopped “abusing” ibuprofen. Her daughter got fevers all the time, as a child: Pneumonia/etc. Eventually her daughter had her adenoids out. She said her daughter’s fevers were quite bad: they’d give her a dose of Tylenol, wait 3 hours, give a dose of Advil (ibuprofen), then repeat for 2 or 3 courses total.
Edgar Cayce didn’t cover Tylenol (acetaminophen / paracetamol) because it wasn’t sold in the U.S. until 1950. Similarly, Advil (ibuprofen) wasn’t discovered until 1961. Tylenol is sold as a treatment for fever and mild to moderate pain. Tylenol is NOT claimed to have anti-inflammatory properties. Ibuprofen was discovered around 1961, and is sold as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for treating pain, fever, and inflammation.
Tylenol and Ibuprofen are both known to cause kidney problems. They both have pro-inflammatory properties. As discussed below, Ibuprofen and Aleve (naproxen sodium) are both safer than Tylenol.
Edgar Cayce on Aspirin
Aspirin is a small chemical modification to a chemical found in willow bark and other plants. Edgar Cayce did mention Aspirin. He was not strictly opposed to its use, but sometimes tried to wean people off with therapies that better addressed the causes of the person’s condition:
(Q) Is it well to discontinue the aspirin twenty-four hours before taking the eucalyptol, oil of turp and benzosol?
(A) Better that this be reduced gradually; that is, five grains may be discontinued for a period of three to four days before another discontinuance of that amount would be made. Then, later, this may still be discontinued a little more - but it should be that, no aspirin - or no salicylic acid is in system for at LEAST a period of twenty-four hours BEFORE the eucalyptol and others are given. Why? In the effect created in system by the acid, while not detrimental to the heart’s action - in this particular case we are speaking of, [120] - unless taken in large quantities - it DOES, NATURALLY, affect the gastric juices of the system, or the lymph in the internal system is affected - just as the vegetative nerve system of the intestinal tract is affected, or DEADENED. Hence the easing of pain to the body. NOT a curative, in any sense - only allowing the central nerve system to work under stress without pain radiating from the call of the emunctories in the system; for, when the lymph and vegetative is deadened, the lymph works or operates secondarily through the activity of the cerebrospinal nerve system. Now, the changes as are effective by the taking into the system of eucalyptol, benzosol and oil of turp:
(120-3 F 72)
In this reading, for a 72 year old woman, Aspirin is “not detrimental to the heart’s action” but it “DEADENS” the “vegetative nerve system of the intestinal tract”, “allowing the central nerve system to work under stress without pain radiating”.
In another reading, Cayce recommended Aspirin with Alophen (a stimulant laxative):
It would be better for these that there be the Alophen taken of an evening, with one or two Aspirin tablets; but do not - when these other properties are being taken as the cough - syrup take spirits frumenti or brandy with same - it would produce too much sweating, see? This, the Alophen and Aspirin, taken for two or three evenings SHOULD produce better eliminations AND take off the cold and congestion which has been part of the accumulations in colon and alimentary canal.
(243-31 F 59)
Aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. Related salicylates - methyl salicylate and sodium salicylate - in Glyco Thymoline contribute some of the mouthwash’s topical pain relief and intestinal antiseptic properties.
Of all the modern non-prescription pain medications – Aspirin, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Aleve – Aspirin is the safest. Ibuprofen is safer than tylenol, but it still is extremely problematic. Aleve [Naproxen sodium] is probably safer than ibuprofen.
A practical example of Tylenol Poisoning
Earlier this year ‘someone I know’ took their 15 month old daughter for her MMR and Chickenpox vaccine. A week later the child had a fever, so grandma gave a dose of Children’s Tylenol. After work the parents picked up their kid. When they got home their daughter still had a fever, and was still cranky, so they gave her more Tylenol. This was promptly thrown up, then the daughter had a febrile seizure. The doctors at the E.R. attributed the seizure to the child’s recent MMR vaccine and sent her home, as febrile seizures are known as a 1-in-2300 complication of the MMR+Chickenpox vaccines.
The grandmother provided the essential clue of Tylenol administration. I mentioned this as suspect to the mother: she was already aware of research linking prenatal Tylenol exposure to autism. I looked into what my sources had to say about Tylenol… and my mind was blown. I made a little writeup, and told the father of my theory. They’d already decided to quit Tylenol. He said, “In our defense, Tylenol is the standard of care for fevers.”
Tylenol exerts its toxic effects by disrupting the “electron transport chain” in the mitochondria, resulting in reactive oxygen species (ROS). ROS are highly reactive chemicals made with O2 - “peroxides, superoxide, hydroxyl radical, singlet oxygen, and alpha-oxygen”. These are highly disruptive to the mitochondria. “Increased concentration of polyunsaturated fatty acids can amplify the damage caused by ROS.”
Tylenol overdose is the #1 cause of liver failure in the United States. Sometimes I joke: if you’re trapped as an old person and they just won’t let you die, you can ask for Tylenol “for your pain”, save up a good number of pills, then take them all at once to finish yourself off. A pharmacist who works at our hospital replied that Tylenol poisoning is a very painful way to go.
The standard treatment for Tylenol-poisoning is N-acetylcysteine. Some Chinese researchers found an extract from Pu-erh tea is also helpful: Effect of Pu-erh tea on acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity assessed by physiological, metabolomic, and transcriptomic analyses. (Green Tea leaves come from a tree. Black tea is fermented tea leaves. Pu-erh is a specific fermentation process.)
Edgar Cayce Treatment for Fevers
The ARE’s OVERVIEW OF THE COMMON COLD, Paragraph #6, has a Cayce suggestion for fevers: “This individual was told to treat his fever by bathing his feet in hot water every four hours, and following this, to take a rubdown from the hips to the feet and including the feet with the combination already mentioned (equal parts of mutton tallow, spirits of turpentine, and spirits of camphor).”
Conclusion
While Tylenol might help soothe a cranky child, it’s a terrible OTC drug. Pu-erh tea may be useful for helping rejuvenate post-Tylenol syndrome. Ibuprofen is safer than Tylenol, but it’s not a very good anti-inflammatory either.
Do any of you have a go-to treatment for childhood fevers? If so, please let me know. Thanks!

Medical Freedom @ SCOTUS
P.S. I try to write everyone back, but some of your emails are still ‘snoozed’. I’ve been distracted: This week the U.S. Supreme Court distributed my sixth petition to the Justices, for their December 2 2022 conference. This petition is about Medical Freedom. This can be read at the Supreme Court’s website. This is a petition for rehearing - the docket page for #21-1493 links to some of my earlier filings.
I think people should be allowed to make medical decisions for themselves, no matter their perceived capacity. If someone doesn’t want to take haloperidol, the agony of which was used by the Soviets for dissident re-education, psychiatrists should not be able to use the courts to force this or any other drug on anyone.
The justices should have granted my last petition. This time I upped my ante: forced vaccines are also a rights-violation. The U.S. Constitution’s 9th Amendment says we all have rights that aren’t listed. I proposed the Justices can use the 9th Amendment to establish that we all have a right to Medical Freedom.
This whole saga of mine started when I met someone who I realized was ‘ungrounded’. I gave them one of my Cayce Coins. She immediately noticed the coin’s effect. I became her life preserver.
Only have a few coins left. I spent all the funds I made this summer keeping my friend alive, and on my fifth Supreme Court petition. The Pendants have a slightly stronger effect, and are less likely to walk away. These are available on my web store and my facebook shop.
I intend to launch a fundraiser next week, a change.org petition, and an indiegogo campaign to pay for another batch of coins. If you didn’t catch my last email about this friend, who instantly noticed the coin’s effect, the archive is at this link: A practical example of using Cayce’s steel for grounding
Again: you can also use a stainless steel spoon on your feet to improve grounding. Some people have told me they find ‘rebar’ and ‘pocket knives’ to have a similar effect. Buying grounding pendants and Glyco Thymoline purchases help support my efforts to better establish our right to make medical decisions for ourselves. ;)
