Two Terrific Books
Hello Hungry Readers, Well, I had a family event last month (what is time?) and so I got a lot of reading done, thought not quite as much as I expected.
Bookshop links included. Nonetheless, here's two I enjoyed.
The Sense of Wonder by Matthew Salesses is a story that is almost all telling, which I mention, because if you hate that, it will not be for you. I found the characters attempts to grapple with the politics of being Korean American in both the entertainment industry and professional basketball, and the things that happen when you succeed and what people expect of you really fascinating.
The Marquis Who Mustn't by Courtney Milan is an enjoyable historical romance, about a woman who is trying on a little deception for size, who meets a man who is trying to make up for his father's deception. Naturally, they ended up sort of fake, sort of real engaged.
Have you been reading anything great lately?
