Flowers, Kings, and Things
Hello, Hungry Readers,
We have made it to June which is both reassuring and terrifying. Like yay, we’re here, and also how is it June? I feel like half of being an adult is saying, wow time flies.
Kobo announced they expanded Kobo Plus to six new countries: Czechia, Greece, Luxembourg, Philippines, Poland and Romania. All of my books are available in Kobo Plus of you decided to sign up and need some reading suggestions.
Next week is King Kamehameha Day, which is a holiday of sorts in Hawai’i. Kings are generally not a thing I’m a fan of, but King Kamehameha did like one or two not terrible things. To celebrate, as those of you who’ve read Of Kings and Queens will know, many statues of King Kamehameha are adorned with lei. I am a fan of lei. (Again, no surprise to anyone who read Of Kings and Queens or Aloha to You.)
Anyway, I’ve made Aloha to You and Of Kings and Queens half price (where allowed, some countries don’t let me dip any lower) so snap those up if you haven’t already.
And if you’ve already read those, but want more Hawaiian characters, I have two more suggestions.
The Obake Code is Makana Yamamoto’s second heist lesbians in space, and I quite enjoyed it.
I also recently read Mele by Kalehua Kim which is just gorgeous and heartbreaking poetry.
Happy June, folks!
