Original designs for the Superman pretenders, from the bonus materials on the recent Reign of the Supermen collection! For those following the story for the first time in this blog, be advised that the first sketch reveals the real identity of Visor Superman: yes, MR. KICK BUTT. (Pay no attention to the other name under the character, that's a typo.) The Superboy pages are also interesting to me, because you can see how much influence artist Tom Grummett had on the plot of these comics – he describes the scene where Superboy gets mad about his torn up jacket, and suggests that Cadmus could have started working on a Superman clone two years ago, during that otherwise kinda pointless Bloodhounds issue.
