"Panic in the Sky" Planning Chart
Here's how the Superman writers and editors kept track of all those crazy plotlines in the ‘90s, if you've ever laid awake at night wondering about this (but who hasn't?). This covers everything from the Cerberus story in Man of Steel #8 to Lex II smooching with Supergirl in Action #676. Note that some of the things shown here didn't make it to the final comic, like Agent Liberty's original name (Libertaria– sorry, “Liberator”) and that thing about Jimmy Olsen's d“carrot” in another dimension. (Oh, uh, there are spoilers for the current Pete Ross storyline above. Sorry, Peteliebers!)
This is yet another of the extras in the awesome Superman: Panic in the Sky! TPB, which also include:
A kickass new cover by Dan Jurgens.
An introduction by Roger Stern talking about the genesis of the crossover and its lovingly ripped off name.
Brief commentary on every issue by the writers.
An extra Supergirl/Blurpy page by Tom Grummett.
And an afterword by senior editor Mike Carlin explaining the ongoing panic behind the scenes of ‘90s Superman comics, illustrated by the above image.
So reprint this thing already, DC, or all this plugging I'm doing for you will go to waste (though you can probably find it for cheap on eBay).
