Metropolis Mailbag: Why '99?

Hey, whats up? I like this blog, but I can't help but wonder why you want to stop at 1999. To me, that's when Superman actually got really good with Jeph Loeb, J.M DeMatteis et al taking over the books. In fact, the 2000-2004 period may be the best Superman period in his history. Just curious.

I’m not a big fan of that period, as I mentioned here, but admittedly I haven’t read enough of it to have an informed opinion. But, even if I decided to read and comment those comics, I’d have to do it in another Tumblr, because there’s a clean break between the 00-04 issues and the 86-99 ones. It’s a completely different story and a completely different Superman.

(One with different bodily proportions, even.)
