Yeah, Tumblr's archive feature kind of sucks. One day I'll do my own archive page from scratch, but that will take a while. Here's a tip I didn't figure out until recently, though: if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of an entry (past the comments and all), there are “older” and “newer” links that you can use to navigate through the posts, if you're reading everything in order.
