I should write a newsletter, I mumble as I move from room to room, curious if I'm fighting the heat or the cold or the wind or the allergies or just ... you know? The world? What to eat? Did I get enough sleep? What's on TV? I should write a newsletter. I need to finish the game that I'm playing now so I have time to play the two new things that come out next week. I need to make time to read before bed tonight. I need to schedule that get-together I'm hosting next week. I should write a newsletter.

It's not just me, of course. Everyone is busy, everyone is doin things, everyone is doing their best.

Part of me wanted to do a big breakdown of the year but time spent looking back that I could instead spend looking forward.

So, instead, some highlights:

• I lost my job (good riddance to bad rubbish) and got a much, much better job, working with people that I like on a project I really love, which I hope to keep for a long time.

• My best bud in the world, Pullo, got sick in more than a couple of different ways, and lots of people came together to help him get the help he needs.

  I'm going into 2024 feeling good about what I've done and excited to do more.
