This Month — Date Markers & Multi-Select
We finished date markers! They should now almost always be in the correct position. (Under some conditions they can drift out of position briefly if you have a session open during a two minute period after midnight UTC.)
You can now also select multiple stories and then move them, both within and between stacks.
A few other small changes:
- pulse the story row blue after drag-and-drop move
- fixed an issue where Javascript console.log was leaking DOM subtrees in memory, causing some StoryTime tabs to consume large amounts of memory
- fixed an issue where hover states could block scrolling in browsers without focus
Next Month - Search/Filtering
In talking to the folks using the app now, we’ve learned that it’s hard to find “your” work in a large backlog. So we’re working on a search, filtering feature, that will under some conditions replace drafts in the second column.
When Input/Drafts is collapsed,
There should be a Title Search bar that is a text input field. When that field is selected for input, the area below the control bar should become a blank filter area.
When characters are input, all stories on the main board with the substring in their title should appear (in relative priority order) in the filter area.
We’re also looking at ways to stop deploys from interrupting active sessions. Right now when the application deploys it forces all active Live sessions to reload, which can reset some context, especially for anyone hiding accepted stories in current. This work will also make the application more useful in elevators and anywhere else the internet isn’t available.
Also! New Product/About Pages!
StoryTime is looking and feeling pretty great, and there are a few things we are excited to stress about it. Namely: it's actual software you can use today! Individual use is gratis. Team use is available and we want to talk to people about it!
Our page at https://storytime.team wasn't communicating any of this, or telling any kind of story about the problems StoryTime solves. Now, we think it does.
We'd love to hear from you what you and all your friends think about it, so be sure to show it to them.
Also, on our about page, we've got to links to all of our socials now, and we've all started writing more about the things that touch on what we think people who might use StoryTime are interested in.
What would you like to see us writing about more? We await your thoughts at [email protected]!
