It’s been a busy spring with lots of exiting work to do.
Back in February I went to the Awwwards Conference in Amsterdam for new inspiration. In the world of UX and digital design the tri-annually and global conference series and their elaborate website with daily additions of great digital design is great place to follow and catch up on new trends.
Besides that I’ve mainly been working on the ongoing project with Københavns Professionshøjskole and turning the side project Periodical into something even more serious.

My role: Product design, Editorial design, Community building, webdesign and implementation

Most of my time since have been spend expanding and fine tuning the digital alumni network hub for Københavns Professionshøjskole, one of the largest educational institutions in Denmark. Specifically we’ve quickly started converting a series of planned physical events into digital, video based events. A new video based Talkshow format is coming up next week, so I’ve spend some time setting up an event calendar, and event pages for promotion that can also function as a platform for watching and engaging in the Talkshow after the event.
Also, I’ve been working to integrate the event promotions across the webs univers at alumne.kp.dk to further integrate the content and element. It’s still a thrill working with the Webflow platform for this as it lets you develop and implement the information architecture of a website pretty much as fast and easy as implementing the design. It’s pretty much perfect for an expansive project like this, where not much is planned in detailed before the phases of designing and implementing. It’s just great for works in progress. Just like stories without endings.
I’ve added two video clips to the case story showing further details about the cross platform integration of events and the podcast series that’s also a part of the project.

Periodical is a set of simple tools enabling publishers to take publications online.

Besides the project for Københavns Professionshøjskole and a few other UX and design projects I’m very happy to have found time to get a new side project properly off the ground now able to turn it into something more serious. Expanding on some of the concept I introduced with the Annal Report Concept and UX Design I did for major Danish company with Inviso, we are now three people working on launching Periodical.
Periodical is, in its first version, a Wordpress plugin, enabling publishers to take publications online issue by issue as well-crafted and thoughtfully composed releases. It’s a new way to properly put print publications of new digital magazines online on the web, making them accessible for anyone and truly integrated with the Internet..
We’ve found some great publications to start off with as prototype partners, all displaying each there own affinity to the fine tradition of Danish design and publicist traditions. We are working with them in the design and early marketing phase, and we hope we’ll be able to feature this work within the next few months. For now you can stay in the loop of the project signing up for news on the landing page.
