Reflection #58 Forgo the Drama

Reflection #58 Forgo the Drama
As years unfold
the soul grows more spacious,
less crowded by self-concern,
accepting with more clarity--of what’s important.
Some people live among drama,
telling and retelling their troubles,
perhaps seeking attention or sympathy,
or wearing their burdens as badges of honor.
With grace-giving awareness,
I tend to my own garden,
learning what is mine to carry,
and what belongs to another.
I take care not to assume,
another person's burden as my own.
Not every storm circles around me,
nor am I the center of their struggle.
So, I choose not to magnify shadows,
or predict calamity before it arises.
Most troubles pass like weather
changing shape and moving on.
Today I offer a receptive heart,
trusting life's ebb and flow.
I carry this day with a lighter touch,
welcoming it with serenity and grace.
