Hey y’all!

Are you gearing up to celebrate a mother or mother-figure in your life this weekend? I certainly am. And I can say with 100% certainty that my mom is the reason I started Solid Ground. She was the one who encouraged me to play in the backyard, let me plant seeds from her seed collection, and brought me with her to the plant nursery she worked at while I was home on spring break as a kid. It’s so exciting to be able to share this passion for plants with my mom now that I’m grown.

I also am just in awe of all the mothers around me. I’m getting into the season of life where some of my friends are deciding to have children, and watching that happen has been really incredible. It genuinely fills me with a huge sense of pride and awe. I am not a mother, but I am grateful for so many of the things that moms do, and I hope this Sunday you’re able to celebrate Mother’s Day in a way that makes the most sense to you.

If the mom in your life enjoys gardening, I have a ton of perennials up front right now, and just recently brought up some new trees and shrubs. My mom is also an amazing potter, and I’ll have a bunch of her work available at the checkout stand, including mugs, plates, and bowls. I’ll be open all weekend with normal business hours, 9-4, so swing by (with a mother or without) and see what I’ve got! I also have the updated availability list here.
