Uganda 🇺🇬 Dry Process ⛰️
Hello Sideyard Friends,
This week’s roast is a coffee from the Rwenzori Mountain region of Uganda. Most of the region lacks formal road infrastructure, which means the coffee is transported from small-holder farms to the processing station by donkey and on foot. Historically, Uganda produced mostly commercial-grade coffee, but they’ve made amazing strides with quality recently, which has pushed a lot of their production into the speciality market and into our coffee selections here at Sideyard.
This specific lot has rustic sweetness, with deep roast tones complementing winey fruits and woody spice notes. It’s lighter bodied and I find myself liking it more without cream as a result.
The origin track recommendation for the week is Moses Katazza & Frida Sonko - Nona Ente Yo (1966).
Cheers,
Ryan
