Mexico 🇲🇽 Finca Fatima 🍫

Hello Sideyard Friends,

This week’s roast is a washed process coffee from Finca Fatima—a farm in Veracruz, Mexico that’s been in the same family for over a century. Also interesting to note… the state of Veracruz is the same region where Arabica coffee was first introduced into Mexico in the late 18th century by Spanish colonists from the Caribbean.

In the cup I’m tasting dark chocolate- covered almonds (like those Turbinado dark chocolate almonds from TJ’s!), brown sugar, and a hint of citrus and berry. As much as I love a big fruity natural process coffee, I need a break every now and the chocolate/almond note in this coffee does an excellent job of hitting reset on the fruit-forward program. We’ll have two naturals to finish out December—a Costa Rica and Ethiopia.

The origin track recommendation for the week is Emily Cranz’s 1966 Go-Go Blues.

Cheers,

Ryan

p.s. No extras this week, but we do have a couple spares of that delicious honey process Costa Rica from a few weeks back.
