urllib3 2024 Annual Report
The 2024 annual report for urllib3 is now available, this year on co-maintainer Quentin Pradet’s blog instead of my own to switch things up. This was a relatively quiet year but still included plenty of work on HTTP/2 and Web Assembly (WASM).
In this report we include our plans for deprecating support for Python 2 and the urllib3 1.x release stream over 5 years after Python 2 and OpenSSL 1.0.2 have been sunset. This release stream is still used by some versions of botocore and Amazon Linux 2, so if that is of interest to you please take a look.
