My Favorite Tea
On seasonal rituals, and giving yourself a little treat when you can

I found this tea a few years ago, and it’s become an indispensable part of my daily routine.

The tea in question is Hot Cinnamon Spice (sometimes sold as Hot Cinnamon Sunset) by Harney & Sons. I order it loose by the pound now, but I also have a box of wrapped teabags that I take with me when I’m traveling. This has been on my mind lately because I just recently switched over from my winter ritual of brewing it hot every morning to my summer ritual of brewing it overnight and drinking it cold! It’s excellent either way.
I don’t really know a ton about tea, but I do know I love this particular tea to pieces. And I firmly believe that when you find something you love this much, if it makes your days brighter, there’s no shame in ordering it by the pound. Even if it does make me feel like I’m the dang East India Company or something.
Shameless Self-Promotion:
I haven’t mentioned my threadless shop in a little bit, so here’s a reminder that it exists! If you’re reading this email when it comes out on the morning of June 30, there’s a neat sale going on for the next few hours: $14 Tees, $17 Extra Soft Tees + up to 35% Off Everything.

What I’m Into Lately:
So! I just got back from tabling in Artist’s Alley at the 2026 American Library Association Conference, where I had the absolute best time. Librarians are just some of the most incredible people! It was so exhilarating and energizing to be in a huge conference center chock full of people who really, really, really, really love books. I spoke on a panel about comics and zines in libraries, I did the Magical Comics Tea event with the fabulous folks at GNCRT, and I got stacks of excellent books and comics and zines. One of the books I picked up was Crumble by Meredith McLaren and Andrea Bell, an utterly charming YA graphic novel about unbreakable friendship, loss and grief, and the power of baking for other people. It’s so beautiful and touching, it had me tearing up on the convention floor at the ALA. It’s got some great baking recipes, too!
What Toki’s Into Lately:
Look at this ball of fluff just casually being the handsomest boy in the whole neighborhood.
