Hi folks!

As part of my Creative Steps project with Arts Council of Wales, I’m hosting a relaxed, offline hang out for artists and creatives with no pressure!

I’ve found since having a kid that I’ve not been able to go to that many art events (as they’re often at kiddo’s bedtime!), and I’ve found that there aren’t that many spaces to meet other creatives without there being some kind of pressure. Whether it’s at event/class you have to pay for, or it’s a “networking” event you feel like you have to promote yourself at, or it’s just something that’s so busy it’s overstimulating and hard to actually talk to people.

I’m also keen to create an opportunity to encounter new people without having to navigate social media!! (the dream!)

So I’m creating an event where there is no pressure, no expectations, just a chance to meet other people in the creative community, and hopefully come out with some new conversations and connections!

• It’ll be a relaxed environment with no pressure to “do” anything other than hang out

• Feel free to bring a craft/project you’re working on to do if you like

• If you’re an artist parent, feel free to bring the small one along. This isn’t an event for kids (there’s no activities provided) but I want to welcome artist parents who would otherwise not attend if they could not bring their child with them. I also know it can be hard to meet other parents who work in the arts!

• Chapter has a cafe downstairs where you can grab a drink and a snack

How to find the Peilot Room: Go into Chapter, then up the stairs turn right (there is a lift next to the stairs), go down the corridor where you'll see a picture of a man reading a newspaper and it's the room right at the end, just past the Printhaus printing room.

Chapter has a car park, bicycle racks, and is close to several bus stops.

FYI! I will be running another IRL Creative Hang Out in SWANSEA next month - that one is particularly geared towards neurodivergent creatives, but feel free to come to that one if coming to Cardiff is too far/inaccessible for you. Details for that one to follow at the start of October.

Fel rhan o fy mhrosiect Camau Creadigol gyda Chyngor Celfyddydau Cymru, dw i’n cynnal lle i artistiaid a phobl greadigol dreulio amser hamddenol, all-lein, heb bwysau, gyda’i gilydd.

Ers cael plentyn, dw i wedi’i chael hi’n anodd mynd i lawer o ddigwyddiadau celf (achos yn aml maen nhw’n digwydd amser gwely plant!), a dw i wedi teimlo nad oes yna lawer o fannau i gwrdd â phobl greadigol eraill, heb fod rhyw fath o bwysau arnom.

P’un ai mewn digwyddiad neu ddosbarth y mae’n rhaid talu amdano, neu ddigwyddiad “rhwydweithio” lle ti’n teimlo bod yn rhaid hyrwyddo dy hun... Neu weithiau mae digwyddiadau’n gallu bod mor brysur neu orysgogol mae hi’n anodd iawn siarad gyda phobl.

Dw i hefyd yn awyddus i greu cyfle i gwrdd â phobl newydd heb orfod defnyddio’r cyfryngau cymdeithasol!

Felly, dw i’n creu digwyddiad lle does dim pwysau, dim disgwyliadau, dim ond cyfle i gwrdd â phobl eraill yn y gymuned greadigol, a gobeithio cael sgyrsiau a chysylltiadau newydd!

Nid digwyddiad i blant mo hwn (ni fydd gweithgareddau i blant), ond dw i am groesawu artistiaid sydd hefyd yn rhieni a fyddai ddim yn mynychu pe na allent ddod â'u plentyn gyda nhw. Dw i hefyd yn gwybod y bod hi’n gallu bod yn anodd cwrdd â rhieni eraill sy’n gweithio yn y celfyddydau!

Mae’r digwyddiad yna wedi’i anelu’n benodol at bobl greadigol niwrowahanol, ond mae croeso i chi ddod i hwnnw, os yw’r digwyddiad yng Nghaerdydd yn rhy bell neu’n anhygyrch i chi.
