A few responses. Most sectors that make progress don't (I don't think) rely on identifying tons of exceptional leaders. They focus on building repeatable patterns that rely on execution but not the original design of the pattern. Education fails time and again on this front.

The sector also has WAY too many people who act like they can see 3-5 steps out but fail on the steps in between. The whole point here is skepticism that many people can meaningfully see that far out, and even if you can in theory, in practice the steps 5 moves out are going to be different than you think as soon as you make the next step.
