we enter each other’s loops
first adversarially
and second amorously
finally we jump through hoops

as you dive through the center
the circle breaks and deforms
it snakes, spirals, and reforms
love repays what you lent her

a gray fox teaches four kits
one by one they climb the tree
or attempt until they do
that’s what all this means to me
the slow shifting of orbits
it’s the same with me and you
