It’s been a busy month in Proggerton since we released “Chronology” to stores and streaming platforms, and we’ve shipped CDs to a whole bunch of cool people in the US, UK, and beyond! Yesterday we released the fifth video from the record, “Lightrail,” and you can spin that on YouTube, like so.

Also, for the first time in many years, we’ve got a tiny little mini-residency in Austin: Progger is playing the next two Tuesday nights at C-Boy’s Heart and Soul on South Congress Ave. This coming Tuesday (October 20) we’ll be taking over the late sets for our good friends the Groove Line Horns, so we’ll be hitting from 11:30pm to close! Gonna stretch, gonna get weird. If that’s a little late for ya, the following Tuesday (October 27) we’ll be setting things up for Groove Line at 9:30.

We always love playing at C-Boy’s because it feels… to me, anyway… like a club seriously focused on soul, funk, and rock should feel. Even though most of us tend to be heavy jazz nerds, our “first language” is more likely to be one of the above. In a lot of ways we’re really a rock and funk crew who happens to use harmonies and melodies that jazz people use too. Not coincidentally, music like that has often been my favorite in the world. At any rate, the vibe at C-Boy’s is always conducive to letting loose and seeing what happens, and that’s an environment we love to play in.

Finally, some news for our fans who are vinyl lovers, which isn’t a small number. Yes, “Chronology” on double vinyl is on its way to stores (and us) as we speak. We’ll have an official release date soon. In the meantime, spin these jams digitally and we’ll see you out there somewhere!
