A Thank-You That Never Gets Old

🌼 Jill's Bright Spot

This Week's Bloom 🌸

Red Poppy — Remembrance • Courage • Sacrifice

The red poppy reminds us to remember those who have served, honor their sacrifices, and appreciate the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Today is Veterans Day, and I've been thinking about two little words that carry an awful lot of meaning.

Thank you.

We say them all the time. Thank you for holding the door, bringing in the mail, and for making the coffee.

And A huge thank you to whoever invented online shopping! 🛍️. 😜

But there are some thank-yous that deserve a lot more thought, like the ones we owe our veterans. We go through an ordinary day without thinking about all the freedoms we enjoy. Like, waking up in our own beds, expressing our opinions, worshiping as we choose, and just going about our daily lives.

Sure, we might complain about the weather or the traffic, but we rarely stop to think about the men and women who have served our country so that we can enjoy those everyday freedoms. I think about how much courage it must have taken to leave everything familiar behind because you believed in something greater than yourself. And behind so many of those who served were families making sacrifices of their own. They were waiting, worrying, and praying. While many others came home carrying memories and experiences most of us will never fully understand.

Of course, we have Memorial Day to honor those who gave their lives in military service. But Veterans Day gives us a special opportunity to recognize and thank all who have served, especially those still among us.

And we don't need to make a grand speech. Sometimes a handshake, a smile, and a sincere “Thank you for your service” can mean a great deal.

As Thanksgiving approaches, we're reminded to count our blessings. I hope we remember that some of those blessings came at a cost.

Freedom isn't just something we have. It's something others have helped protect.

And that's a gift worth being grateful for—not only today, but every day.

🌼 Before We Turn the Page...

This week, let's give a little gratitude to someone who has served our country.

A heartfelt thank-you may be a small gesture, but appreciation is never a small gift. To all our veterans, thank you for your service.

❤️ A Little Birthday Bright Spot 🎂

Before I go this week, I have one very special Bright Spot to celebrate!

Today is my sister's birthday. Happy Birthday, Julie! Having you as a sister has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. I love ya, sista! I hope your day is filled with all the love and happiness you deserve. ❤️🎂

Many Blessings and Blossoms,
~ Jill ~
