[Pottery] Florian Gadsby
Florian Gadsby is probably the most well known internet potter out there… Being a ceramics obsessive, I have no idea whether that means most people have heard of him, but to potters he’s a bit of a rock star. He makes beautiful, angular functional ware (think vases, mugs, bowls, etc) and has hundreds of beautifully edited and voiced over videos on YouTube and Instagram, talking people through his process, his wares, and his love of the craft. He also has a great series on the basics which more-or-less taught me to throw! This video shows him making and refining 18 mug shapes, but I love watching him throw vases too.

There are so many things I love about this album - the mellow, feel-goodness… The ultra catchy Iyongwe … The fact the band are called “John Wizards” and the lead singer’s name is “John Withers” and I can only assume this is because someone misheard him say his name early in the bands life... I stumbled across this band at a festival over ten years ago and have been haunted by the fact that since then they have only released one new song. A favourite for long car journeys along foggy motorways - street lamps and tail lights and a weirdly cheerful and cheerfully weird soundtrack.
[TTRPG] Let the Good Times Roll!
A live action RPG video series brought to you by some of London’s top improvisers, shot beautifully on location at the Archanist’s Tavern in Hoxton. It’s DM’d and lead by brilliant improviser and great human Ed Fargher and has a core cast of brilliant improvisers including Jennifer Jordan, Mandeep Singh, Audra Goffeney and… well… me… BUT IT’S REALLY GOOD I SWEAR! Each episode is a one off adventure set in a dark-Disney style universe created by Mammoth Factory Games. It’s good fun, really stupid, and the penultimate episode comes out this week… So you’ve got plenty of time to catch up before the finale!
