Anthropic is in early talks to lease about $10 billion in AI compute from Meta over roughly two years, with monthly payments and an early-exit clause, per CNBC. Anthropic approached Meta in June after Meta committed $125 to $145 billion to AI infrastructure this year and signaled it would sell excess Hyperion capacity. Both sides call the talks preliminary, and neither has commented publicly. Why it matters: Anthropic ships models faster if it clears its compute bottleneck; Meta turns idle capacity into revenue ahead of Anthropic's rumored October raise near a $965B valuation. CNBC has the payment terms and exit clause details.
