Fake Snow, Orange, Horses and other problems
Hello friends,

I just finished the Melbourne run of BLIZZARD and wanted to say thank you to everyone who came into the snow with me while this strange little show is still becoming itself.
This somehow turned into a big WIP year for me. Some nights the work feels completely lost, some nights suddenly something opens and I can see the show clearly for 3 minutes before it disappears again. Slowly slowly it is coming together.
BLIZZARD has been developing with Aitor Basauri and I’m very grateful for his eyes, generosity and chaos in the process. At the same time I’ve been continuing the journey of Gentle Man with Jamie Wood, which is leading me into very different territory altogether. Quiet territory. Barefoot territory maybe.
Next stops are:
Soho Theatre, London - BLIZZARD WIP - 1st June, 8.30pm
Bristol, The Wardrobe Theatre
FURIOZO - 2,3,5,6 June
BLIZZARD WIP - 4 JuneEdinburgh Fringe - BLIZZARD WIP
Hoots @ Nicolson Square, 7-30 August, 21.30
And somewhere in the middle of all this I’ll probably also bring Gentle Man to Buddafield in July, which honestly feels like the correct place for that strange creature.
The tickets to all the events are here
I’m also very excited that later this year, as part of my DYCP grant, I’ll travel to New York for teacher training with Chris Bayes. More and more I feel interested not only in performing, but also in creating longer spaces for clown training, material development and playful work with people. If your community, school or festival is looking for that kind of workshop, feel free to reach out. I would love to do more of it.
Also - this horse photo was taken by Tolik in Melbourne and was completely his idea. I loved it immediately. It somehow feels like the spirit of this whole period of work. Half poetic, half stupid.
Thank you for following these wandering little projects around the world. Really.
