I built IdealDay because it’s an app I wanted to exist. I plan to use it myself, every day.

I have been writing in paper journals just about every day for 4-5 years. I use them to plan my goals, my days, and to keep tabs on my weeks. I have found some great paper journals, but there are some things a paper journal just can’t do. That’s where an app comes in.

With IdealDay, you get best-in-class planning and journaling, plus:

• Detailed analytics (the more you use the app, the better data you get!)

• History (easily look up any of your past days, weeks, or marathons, any time)

• Understand how you feel each day, and what drives that for you. Over time, use this information to make your days and weeks more productive and enjoyable!

I built IdealDay to combine the best features of my favorite journals with other personal planning and productivity frameworks. I want it to be the best thing out there for personal planning and data tracking. I want you to love it.

We are targeting a May 24th launch. At the start, this will be a soft launch limited to only email subscribers and a few dedicated quantified self and personal planning forums. We will be launching with only a deeply discounted lifetime subscription option. The lifetime subscription will be limited to around 100 sign-ups, and then the price will go up. After the initial launch, we will be rolling out monthly and annual subscription options, and the lifetime subscription will eventually be gone forever.

Early adopters who sign up in the initial launch will have direct access to me, and can request new features and changes. You will shape the future of this product!

The decision to launch with lifetime subscriptions was made for a few reasons:

• Excited users get to use the app for a discounted one-time payment, and never have to pay a subscription fee.

• We can use the funds from initial lifetime subscription purchasers to bootstrap further development, including rollout of on iOS app and roadmap features.

• We can limit app usage initially, in order to carefully monitor and collect feedback. This allows us to provide the best possible user experience.

Lifetime subscriptions are non refundable, as they are given at a deep discount and used to fund further development of the product. However, the app features a free trial which allows you to start your first marathon and plan 2 weeks or 15 days (whichever you do first), so you can try out every feature before committing.

All subscriptions will give full access to any future mobile app versions. We will never add a feature behind a new paywall, and early adopters will always have full access to all future features of the product.
