What a difference a year makes
I totally forgot to write about the Dallas Art Book Fair I attended recently in March. Let’s not make that a habit, since I hope to table as a vendor every year, especially since this year was bigger than the last! Always nice seeing an event grow from year to year. We need more offline, in-person events like this.
I also had a super-ly awesome table mate (2nd-favorite thing about these events: meeting the other artists around me!), Rachel Gibson, who came all the way from Lawrence, Kansas (via an almost 8-hour drive!) to table at DABF. I, as a sometimes traveling zinester, also love meeting other people who fest on the road. Rachel also hosts a fest in Lawrence, Paper Plains Zine Fest.

Deep Ellum Art Fair
Easter weekend, I also attended my second art fair. I’m still trying to feel my way around art fairs, everything from setting up an enticing booth display to selecting interesting items for sale. Also, it didn’t help that we had a rainy first day (and night; my tablecloths were soaked the next morning)
I’m eying Fort Worth’s Arts Goggle in October for my next go at an art fair; fingers crossed they’ll have me!
